Cliff Neve is a Managing Partner for MAD Security. He has more than 20 years of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, intelligence and major acquisitions. While with MAD he has been responsible for cyber vulnerability assessments, information security audits, and cyber cultural assessments for major players in the government, finance, health care, nuclear, electric, education and biotech sectors.
Mr. Neve is also a retired Coast Guard Commander whose 24 years of military leadership included assignments as Chief of Staff at Coast Guard Cyber Command, Deputy Chief Information Officer at the White House Communications Agency, and Assistant IT Program Manager for the Coast Guard’s multibillion-dollar recapitalization program. While at Coast Guard Cyber Command he provided input to Cyber Executive Order 13636 and Presidential Policy Directive-21 and participated in the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Framework on both the federal and industry side. He frequently acted as the Principal for the service and provided regular briefings to the DHS Deputy Secretary and the Commander of US Cyber Command/Director of the National Security Agency.
Mr. Neve holds a master of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington, a master’s in information leadership from National Defense University and a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a 2011 graduate of U.S. Cyber Command’s Joint Advanced Cyber Warfare Course.
