Commander Seebald is the founder and President of Seebald & Associates, the premiere Maritime Security Firm in the United States. CDR Seebald has over 27 years of experience in leadership and management positions in the U. S. Coast Guard, at Seebald & Associates, and with the international maritime community. A sample of his Maritime client base includes the Illinois International Port District Port of Chicago, the State of Hawaii, Port of Milwaukee, Savannah LNG, Sempra Energy Group, the United States Coast Guard and the United States Navy. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Association. For these and other clients, he provides Executive leadership and Maritime Security advice and services. CDR Seebald has spoken at the International Maritime Security Conference and the Connecticut Maritime Security Conference and is a member of the Connecticut Maritime Association and the National Cargo Security Council.

Since his retirement from the United States Coast Guard in 2003 to present, CDR Seebald has served as founder and President of Seebald & Associates, were he started A Maritime Security Corporation focused on the Maritime Terminals and Ports in the United States dedicated to compliance with the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) and the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code. Commander Seebald has built Seebald & Associates one client at a time, by bringing only quality and professional resources to bear on maritime security issues. S&A has grown to be the leader in Training of Port Facility Security Officers, with over 700 trained, utilizing there customized ISPS/MTSA certified Courses. S&A Security Plans are not only ISPS/MTSA compliant but they are known internationally as some of the best and well written in the Industry. In the years since S&A was formed, we have brought onboard only the top level professionals in the industry and now conduct Security Assessments, Security Plans, Drills, Exercises, and required Audits both nationally, within the United States, and internationally. The United States Coast Guard sends their regulators and Auditors to be trained by Seebald & Associates. The United States Navy sends their Port Operations Personnel. Other Clients include national and international companies such as, Chevron, Irving Oil, APM terminals, Maersk, St. Lawrence Cement, CEMEX, Florida Power and Light, the Ports of Mobile, Alabama, Savannah, Georgia, San Diego California, Boston Massachusetts, all of the State of Hawaii, and the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey, training over 400 Port Security personnel, up to and including their Commissioners and Commandants.

A graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy with a B.S. degree in Management, Commander Seebald pursued his post-graduate studies at the United States Naval War College, where he specialized in maritime operations, national security and decision-making, and strategy and policy. He also attended the Navy Shipboard Security and Engagement Tactics (SSET) program, an anti-terrorism course taught by the United States Navy SEALS.

Through his long and distinguished Coast Guard Career, the focus of CDR Seebald’s career was dedicated to the cause of national and international maritime security. During his time at sea, he was involved in operations concerned with counter narcotics, stemming the tide of illegal immigrants, command and control of coastal facilities, and maritime security and safety training in the Dominican Republic, Solomon Islands and Latvia. He worked internationally from the Bering Sea to the South Pacific, from the Arctic Circle to the Coast of South America. Commander Seebald finished his career as the Director of the Coast guard Auxiliary in Manhattan New York, with responsibility for 3,800 members supporting the Coast Guard in all non-military operations related to homeland security.

On September 11, 2001, when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center, CDR Seebald set up a command post at his offices in Battery Park for the Secret Service, FBI and other federal, state and local authorities, and coordinated the activities of those on active duty, as well as civilian volunteers.

A native of Buffalo, New York, Commander Seebald has 7 siblings all that served in the United States Coast Guard; there is over 123 years of Coast Guard service just within the immediate family. Commander Seebald is married to the former Geana A. Faria of Portsmouth, NH; they are blessed with two wonderful and talented children Jessica and Justin.
